The University of Hawaii at Hilo’s College of Continuing Education and Community Service will host a series of workshops about the fundamentals of professional development from 5-8 p.m. Wednesdays, July 13-27, in UH-Hilo’s UCB Room 331.
The classes will focus on practical instruction that demonstrates the essential skills required to step confidently from personnel to supervisor to manager. Participants will gain insights into everything from making a good first impression to motivating people and managing change in the workplace.
• July 12 — Phase 1: Soft Skills Matter: Making Your Hard Skills Shine.
• July 20 — Phase 2: Supervisory Skills: Making the Transition from Buddy to Boss.
• July 27 — Phase 3: Management Skills: Keys to Effective Leading.
All three sessions will be taught by Siniva Pota, owner of S. Pota Services, which provides professional academic tutoring, financial and motivational workshops along with general business, accounting and consulting services.
All three classes can be taken for a bundled discount of $125, otherwise each class separately is $45.
